This Cape Cod inn was named the top waterfront hotel in U.S.
USA Today listed a Massachusetts inn as the nation’s top waterfront hotel in an annual ranking published last week.
Based on selections from hotel and travel experts and votes by readers, the paper chose The Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod to lead its list of the most “memorable and relaxing” places for vacationing near water.
The hotel has a quarter-mile-long private beach that looks out to the Atlantic Ocean. Its 25 landscape acres hold poolside and beachfront cabanas and lounges, cottages and six on-site dining options.
“There’s a lot to enjoy,” USA Today wrote. “Settle into an Adirondack chair, stroll into town or get out on the water to watch the whales.”
The inn has received the same recognition in the past.
The destination has been welcoming guests to Chatham since 1914, according to USA Today.
Amenities include babysitting or child care, a business center, internet, concierge service and a gift shop.
Guests also have access to a spa which includes a relaxation room, private steam showers, a peaceful zen garden, and an outdoor pool and hot tub, according to the hotel’s website.
“We are thrilled to accept this award on behalf of our entire team,” the hotel said in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Thanks to everyone for your votes!”
Wentworth by the Sea, in New Castle, New Hampshire, was the second New England hotel to be mentioned on the list, coming in at number four.
