BTS ticketing season is officially here!
The moment tour dates and ticketing started rolling out, my group chats have basically turned into budgeting support groups. Every day, someone is calculating ticket prices, comparing flight costs, looking at hotel options, or trying to figure out which stop makes the most financial sense.
As exciting as it all is, there’s one thing many fans can relate to: concerts are expensive!

As a freelancer, my income isn’t always predictable. Some months are packed with projects while others are a little quieter. Between client work, content creation, and everyday expenses, I’ve learned that preparing for a BTS concert isn’t just about saving money anymore. It’s about making the most of the money and opportunities I already have!
Apparently, there’s a term for that now: Moneymaxxing.
For me, Moneymaxxing isn’t about becoming rich overnight. It’s about being intentional and finding smarter ways to grow my savings, maximize rewards, create additional income streams, and make every peso work harder toward experiences that genuinely matter.

| Moneymaxxing my way this big BTS year! |
Here’s how I’ve been Moneymaxxing my way through BTS ticketing season:
1. Growing my concert fund instead of letting my money sit still
Whenever I get paid from client work or brand projects, I try not to leave everything untouched in one account anymore. Since freelance income can be unpredictable, I’ve become more intentional about setting aside money through Maya Personal Goals. I like that I can create separate goals for different concert expenses, one for tickets, another for flights, and even one for merch, so everything feels more organized and easier to track.
What makes it even more motivating is that Maya Personal Goals lets you customize each account with a specific purpose, goal amount, and target date, which helps me stay focused on my concert plans. Plus, you can earn up to 8% p.a. on balances of up to ₱100,000 per goal. It makes me feel like my concert fund is still working for me while I prepare for ticketing season.

2. Spending smarter and earning Maya Miles from everyday expenses
Lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about everyday spending, especially through my Maya Black, which earns Maya Miles. Since I already spend on things like food deliveries during busy work days, ride-hailing apps, groceries, and occasional travel planning during comeback season, I like that qualified transactions can earn Maya Miles too! Some Maya Black Preferred merchants even offer boosted rewards with 2x, 5x, or up to 10x Maya Miles, which makes everyday spending feel a little more rewarding.
What I appreciate even more is that these Maya Miles don’t just sit there. They can be converted into vouchers, deals, and travel-related rewards that I can actually use. As someone trying to balance fangirl expenses with real-life responsibilities, I love finding ways to stretch my budget further while working toward bigger goals like concert tickets, flights, and future travel plans. It’s a simple way of making money I was already going to spend work a little harder for me.

3. Turning unused items into extra concert money
Before every major BTS comeback or concert season, I do a quick declutter. Old clothes I no longer wear, duplicate albums, extra photocards, or unused gadgets can sometimes become extra concert funds. It may not be a huge amount, but every little bit helps when you’re budgeting for tickets, travel, and merch.
It’s one of the easiest ways I’ve found to make the most of things I already own instead of immediately looking for new sources of income.

4. Staying financially flexible during unpredictable months
Freelance life changes so quickly. Some months are overwhelming with projects, while others are unexpectedly slow. Having access to financial tools like Maya Easy Credit where you can borrow up to P50,000 with no paperwork required and a 30-day repayment period, and Maya Personal Loan where you can borrow up to PHP 250,000 with flexible repayment terms of up to 24 months.
These give me a little more peace of mind during delayed client payments or quieter periods, especially when real life and fandom expenses seem to happen at the exact same time. As a freelancer, having that kind of flexibility matters!

5. Turning my content into extra concert funds
As a content creator, I’ve also started paying more attention to affiliate and referral opportunities that naturally fit the content I already create. It can be travel codes, online shopping links and vouchers, or referral programs like Maya’s invitation code, these small earnings can add up over time.
They may not cover an entire BTS concert trip on their own, but they can help offset smaller expenses like esim, airport meals, transportation, or part of my ticket fund. To me, that’s what Moneymaxxing is all about: Making the most of opportunities that already exist instead of constantly looking for new ways to earn!

This is probably the most realistic version of Moneymaxxing for me: growing my savings, maximizing rewards, selling things I no longer use, staying financially flexible, and making the most of income opportunities that naturally fit my lifestyle.
As BTS ticketing season continues across Asia, I’m trying to remind myself that preparing for these experiences isn’t always about earning more money overnight. Sometimes it’s simply about being more intentional with what you already have! 🙂
