Dive Brief:

• Signia by Hilton will make its Texas debut next month after La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio converts under the brand, Hilton announced Wednesday. 
• The 496-room Signia by Hilton La Cantera Resort & Spa — which recently completed an 11-month, $40 million refresh — is now accepting reservations for stays beginning Oct. 1.
• Hilton has been expanding the events-focused “approachable luxury” brand nationwide, sometimes with deep impacts on local hotel markets. An 800-room Signia by Hilton hotel in Indianapolis, for instance, is slated to open next year and impact the city’s room supply.

Dive Insight:

Owned by Ohana Real Estate Investors, the forthcoming Texas Signia property will be managed by Hilton and feature nearly 500 keys, including 34 boutique-style villas and an adults-only floor. 

The resort is home to nine dining outlets, including a signature restaurant featuring Texas cuisine; Loma de Vida Spa & Wellness; and the La Cantera Golf Club, which features a championship golf course. 

The property also includes five pools and 115,000 square feet of meeting space, including a grand ballroom and a 5,600-square-foot venue “ideal for weddings and gatherings,” according to Hilton.

Signia by Hilton properties elsewhere also center on events. The flag’s first ground-up build in Atlanta borders the city’s convention center, as will a forthcoming Indianapolis property, slated to open in 2026. 

Hospitality pros previously told Hotel Dive that both hotels — which each feature more than 800 rooms — would significantly impactroom supply in both of their markets. 

Signia by Hilton La Cantera overlooks Texas Hill Country, which has seen a spate of luxury development in recent years, including forthcoming properties under IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Kimpton, Hilton’s Waldorf Astoria and Six Senses brands.
