Meliá Hotels Expands in Italy with Stunning New Venice Property

Meliá Hotels International has unveiled plans for an exciting new hotel in Italy, bringing its renowned hospitality to one of Venice’s picturesque barrier islands. The project will be managed by the Italian hospitality powerhouse SoGes Group Spa under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts banner, with strategic support from the Spanish brand in areas such as distribution and loyalty programs.

Set in the heart of Lido di Venezia, Meliá Venezia Lido will enjoy a prime position along one of the island’s bustling avenues, just a scenic 20-minute ferry ride from the iconic Piazza San Marco. The hotel is being developed within a historic 1920s structure, currently undergoing a comprehensive restoration to align with Meliá’s elevated brand standards, ensuring guests a one-of-a-kind experience.

Slated to open this summer, the boutique-style property will offer 60 elegantly designed rooms, seamlessly blending contemporary comfort with classic Venetian charm. Guests will also have access to an exquisite restaurant and bar, where culinary excellence takes center stage.

This latest addition further strengthens Meliá Hotels International’s presence in Italy, a key market in its expansion strategy. With eight hotels already operating across the country and six more—including Meliá Venezia Lido—set to debut soon, the brand continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in luxury hospitality.
