Hotel brands are expanding all across the globe, and we’ve reported on quite a bit of that growth this June.

Hilton announced a record growth year, reaching a milestone of opening its 1,000th luxury and lifestyle hotel.

It, along with Marriott, are also turning their eye towards Africa as several destinations across the continent see increasing popularity as destinations. Marriott will add over 50 properties across Africa by 2027.

Additionally, Hyatt completed its acquisition of Playa Hotels & Resorts, adding the brand’s fifteen resorts across the Caribbean and Mexico into Hyatt’s portfolio, including the Inclusive by Hyatt brand.

Club Med is also showcasing its own growth as it celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. It will open the Asia Pacific region’s first BREEAM-certified resort in 2026, open the first beach resort in the Gulf States in 2028, open an Exclusive Collection resort in Africa in 2026 and renovate its resorts in Thailand and Indonesia.
