BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A 2-year-old boy from Michigan has died after police say he became entangled within a window blind cord inside his family’s hotel room.

The incident happened July 4 at the Hampton Inn on Colonnade Parkway in Birmingham.

The boy has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office as Kiere DeAndre Jaden Daniels, Jr. of Canton, Michigan. He died at Children’s of Alabama July 10.

The coroner’s office ruled the death accidental, and no foul play is suspected at this time.
