Villa d’Este, an international icon of luxury hospitality with over 150 years of history, proudly introduces Villa d’Este La Collezione, the new brand that unites the group’s finest properties. Alongside Villa d’Este on Lake Como and Villa La Massa in Florence, two new destinations are slated to join the portfolio in the coming months: Palazzo Venezia in Como and Miralago Luxury Apartments in Cernobbio.

Villa d’Este La Collezione is born to celebrate a legacy built on extraordinary places, properties united by a shared vision of Italian excellence and a responsible approach toward their local communities.

It is in Como and Cernobbio, where Villa d’Este has long stood as an ambassador of Lake Como to the world, that Villa d’Este La Collezione chooses to deepen its presence.

Palazzo Venezia, located in Piazza Cavour in Como and facing the lake just steps from the Duomo, is a cornerstone of this evolution. This 19th-century building, inspired by classical and Venetian styles, will open on 6th December 2025, following a comprehensive rebranding. It will be the first five‑star hotel in Como to join The Leading Hotels of the World. The experience will be intimate and exclusive, with rooms and suites designed to ensure comfort and privacy, striking a harmonious balance between classic elegance and contemporary sensibility.

At the heart of the hotel’s culinary scene is Altariva Restaurant & Bar, a panoramic rooftop venue led by Executive Chef Alessandro Rinaldi. Cuisine will be contemporary yet rooted in the region, creatively reinterpreting local flavours using carefully selected, high-quality ingredients. With its refined ambience and views stretching across Lake Como and the Pre-Alps, the hotel will embody an authentic and measured elegance.

In June 2026, the opening of Miralago Luxury Apartments in Cernobbio will follow. This residential project arises from the transformation of the historic Hotel Miralago, reimagined by Droulers Architecture. Here, the charm of the past is reinterpreted with a contemporary touch, resulting in eight luxury apartments designed to combine the warmth of a home with the standards of five-star hotel service. Spread across four floors, the apartments include Classic One-Bedroom and Deluxe Two-Bedroom configurations, with the flexibility to combine units to create up to three-bedroom residences offering spectacular views over Lake Como. Every detail has been carefully curated to ensure privacy, comfort, and an elegant atmosphere, perfectly aligned with the style of Villa d’Este.

The offering will be enriched by a distinctive gastronomic experience – Miralago Caffè, an elegant yet inviting venue with direct access to the lakefront, serving breakfast through to aperitivo. Complementing this will be an exclusive Breakfast Delivery service and, upon request, a private chef available for personalised culinary experiences inside the apartments.

Guests will benefit from concierge services, valet parking, daily housekeeping, Wi-Fi, e-bikes, fully equipped kitchens, and a wide range of customisable amenities, from grocery delivery and pet-friendly options to babysitting and private or corporate event planning. Moreover, all guests will enjoy access to the facilities at the nearby Villa d’Este, including the Sporting Club, swimming pools, tennis courts, and the Villa d’Este Golf Club, just a short drive away.

In line with this forward-looking vision, Villa d’Este La Collezione continues to grow with major upcoming development projects, including the complete restoration of Villa Belinzaghi and the renovation of the historic Hotel Regina Olga in Cernobbio.

Built in 1860 by Count Giulio Belinzaghi – a Milanese banker and mayor of both Milan and Cernobbio – Villa Belinzaghi is an outstanding example of neoclassical architecture on Lake Como. It was previously part of the Villa d’Este estate during the 1950s and 60s and rejoined the portfolio in 2022, reconnecting an essential chapter in Villa d’Este’s history. Notably, Guido Belinzaghi was among the visionary entrepreneurs who, in 1873, led the transformation of the original Villa into a Grand Hotel. This marks not only a physical reconnection, but also a symbolic return to the roots, Villa Belinzaghi becoming, in many ways, the “home of the founder.”

With 8,000 sqm of parkland directly connected to the grounds of Villa d’Este, the property is now undergoing a significant restoration, set to restore the splendour of a residence. The project will include four spacious suites, two restaurants, a destination bar and cigar lounge, and a private spa featuring an indoor plunge pool and an outdoor pool nestled in the garden. The restoration work began in 2025, with completion times to be defined due to its meticulous and complex nature.

In parallel, the group is also planning a full renovation and revitalisation of the historic Hotel Regina Olga in Cernobbio. Dating back to the late 19th century, the hotel was acquired by the Villa d’Este in April 2025. Once restored, it will reclaim its place as one of Lake Como’s landmark hospitality venues, offering approximately 50 rooms, a restaurant, and a bar with generous outdoor spaces, all in a prime lakeside location. The renovation project is currently in a planning phase and will follow guidelines for the opening date.

For over 150 years, Villa d’Este has embodied excellence and the art of hospitality. Every day, we strive to enhance the destination on a global scale. Today, Villa d’Este La Collezione marks the beginning of a new chapter within a structured growth and development strategy for our magnificent territory, reaffirming our commitment to raising the standard of luxury hospitality and strengthening our position as a leader in the industry.Giuseppe Fontana, Chairman of the Board of Villa d’Este S.p.A.
