Domestic travel in the U.S. is on the up, with average flight prices at many airports getting cheaper.

International travel to the United States is down for the first half of 2025, but domestic travel has increased slightly—often because fares have dropped. Not all destinations, of course, are a bargain. A recent study by NetCredit, the online loan site, identified the most expensive domestic airports in the U.S.—and the least expensive. The average cost of a flight to Jackson Hole, Wyoming was ranked the most expensive, with airfare to Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska rounding out the top three.
