Hilton opens first island hotel in the world in Croatia this May

Hilton will soon open its seventh hotel in Croatia and its first in the world located on an island.

The hotel, named Hotel Preko, is situated in the centre of Preko on the island of Ugljan.

The hotel is expected to open in May and will operate under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand.

It has been built on the site of the former Hotel Preko. Bookings are already available through Hilton’s official channels.

Hotel Preko will have 65 rooms, designed with elements inspired by local island traditions.

The hotel will employ 30 people, with 27 of them coming from Ugljan and the nearby island of Pašman.

It is planned to operate throughout the entire year, unlike many other hotels on the Croatian coast which close during the off-season.

Facilities include an outdoor pool, garden, bar, restaurant, spa and wellness centre, an indoor heated pool, and a sauna.

The hotel’s restaurant will serve dishes made with local ingredients and traditional Dalmatian recipes.
