Gulf Hills Hotel and Resort to add outdoor activity spaces
JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) – The interior renovations over at the Gulf Hills Hotel and Resort are close to finished, and now the owners are working to add some outdoor activities for guests.
The 12-acre land plot with more than 2,000 linear feet of waterfront is more than just a hotel — the owner says it’s a destination.
Right outside of the pool area, there will be new pickleball courts and updates made to the existing tennis courts. Owners plan to make the facilities available to guests, or to the public through a membership-style program.
In addition to those upgrades, fire pits and a bocce ball area are also underway.
“I mean, we feel like Ocean Springs is such a special place. We have been really honored to be a place where people can come and discover the Coast, stay here in Ocean Springs, and really get an essence of what the Coast has to offer,” co-owner Roxy Condrey said.
Owners have worked to preserve the building’s history through interior and exterior renovations. In fact, Condrey says the pool has been an amenity to the property since the 1920s.
“There’s not a waterfront hotel here in Ocean Springs, so us having that opportunity to allow people to come and experience what, we think is really one of our most unique selling propositions — being here on the water is really unique.”
The hotel has remained open throughout the ongoing remodel.
As far as the exterior goes, owners say there is no completion timeline because the possibilities for the campus are endless.
Common area renovations are completed, and the property is already hosting weddings, retreats, and other celebrations.
