The Flamingo Resort & Spa in Santa Rosa has joined the Tapestry Collection of independently-owned boutique hotels by Hilton.

“It’s a really great partnership between Tapestry and The Flamingo,” said the resort’s general manager, Matthew Strawn. “I’m very excited to continue to push the envelope and offer more experiences to our guests, this will really help us to continue to drive our offerings.”

The Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a group of “independent boutique hotels, each rich in cultural charm and deeply connected to its destination,” according to Hilton’s website.

Tapestry welcomed the Flamingo into its family of hotels as of Tuesday.

This will be the first Tapestry hotel in Santa Rosa. Other hotels that are part of the franchise in Sonoma County are The Lodge at Healdsburg, Hotel Centro Sonoma Wine Country in Rohnert Park, Hotel Petaluma, and Sonoma Valley Inn in Sonoma. There are 29 Tapestry hotels throughout California.

The Flamingo, which opened in 1957, was not acquired by Hilton. Pyramid Global Hospitality will continue to manage the hotel and Palm House Hospitality will retain ownership, according to the hotel’s news release.

Under the Tapestry collection, Hilton members will be able to redeem Hilton Honors points, use member deals and take advantage of contactless check-in and digital keys through the Hilton app, according to a news release from the hotel.

Before joining the Tapestry group, Strawn said the hotel invested about $2.5 million on upgrades including the digital keys. It also included updating the neon lights in the Flamingo’s iconic sign, which was designated as a local landmark in 1997.

In 2019, the hotel was scheduled to undergo a $20 million renovation that finished in 2021. That same year, the hotel achieved a federal historical distinction.

Service at the Lazeaway Club restaurant, its pool and event spaces will not change.

Strawn said he is thankful to the local community for their support.

“We wouldn’t be successful without the city of Santa Rosa and all of our partners in Sonoma County and all the residents who have supported this place,” Stawn said.

The hotel will offer a 15% discount on stays between April 22 to June 30, 2025 which can be booked on its website.
