A seven-story hotel could rise in Allston, as City Realty pitches a no-parking project on an Advance Auto Parts site.
If passed, it will be part of a future development that plans to revamp the corner of Harvard Avenue and Cambridge Street with new rentals and condos.
City Realty submitted the application for the 96-room hotel on an approximately 8,000-square-foot site to the Boston Planning and Development Agency on Aug. 11.
According to the application, the developers hope to cater to diverse visitors, specifically families visiting students at nearby universities, business travelers, and tourists.
The building will include four covered temporary parking spaces and a valet service at the rear.

The application cites its location within walking distance of several MBTA bus routes and the Green Line’s Harvard Avenue stop as the justification for not including dedicated parking as part of the proposal.
Under current code requirements, the hotel would need to create 58 spaces. The developers will need a variance to allow only four spaces.

City Realty plans to locate the proposed hotel within its BPDA-approved L-shaped residential building at 415 Cambridge St. The building will have over 100 rental units, 52 parking spaces, and nearly 2,000 square feet of retail space.
The plans are part of the bigger redevelopment dubbed Allston Square, which includes redeveloping and preserving six buildings at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Harvard Avenue, drastically changing the landscape. According to the BPDA, the project is under construction.

City Realty is also behind the nearby proposed project at 76 Ashford St., which will consist of demolishing an existing commercial building and constructing a mixed-use building with 254 residential units, close to 2,000 square feet of retail space, and 63 off-street parking spots.
The hotel will also be across the street from the proposed mixed-use combo of the new Great Scott and O’Brien’s pub at 1 Harvard Ave, which would combine the two music venues and add residential units on top.
Boston.com did not get a response for additional comment from City Realty.
