Courtyard Bridgetown, Barbados is proud to unveil a $350,000 thoughtfully designed renovation of its lobby and signature restaurant, Kitchen & Bar, drawing inspiration from the vibrant colors and atmosphere of the Caribbean. This transformation aims to create a serene and welcoming oasis that captures the spirit of the island while offering guests a modern and comfortable hospitality experience.
A RENOVATION THAT MERGES MODERN DESIGN WITH THE LOCAL LANDSCAPE
Inspired by the natural surroundings of the coastal landscape around the hotel, the Courtyard Bridgetown, Barbados renovation captures the aesthetics of light filtering through palm tree leaves, creating a palette of bright yellows and greens, from citrus hues to dark emeralds. In nature, the palm leaves begin to dry and shift to a golden brown, offering a rich textured pattern. Guests will see this as a source of design inspiration throughout the public spaces.
Homing in on traditional Caribbean architecture—where vibrant, bold exteriors contrast with the more calm, refined interiors of Marriott’s signature aesthetic—the design embraces softer tones to evoke relaxation and tranquility, offering a visual and sensory retreat from the island’s lively surroundings. Vegetation acts as a bridge between indoor and outdoor spaces, while breathable materials like linens, raffias, and screens are used to provide freshness, filter light, and enhance ventilation, resulting in a harmonious balance of the Caribbean’s vibrant energy with a tranquil retreat.
CULINARY AT THE CORE
In addition to an interior refresh, the team at Courtyard Bridgetown, Barbados has renovated their signature on-site restaurant, Kitchen & Bar inclusive of an updated menu that celebrates the local Bajan cuisine featuring local classics like a traditional a la carte Bajan Breakfast, Fishcakes, Cou-Cou and Saltfish and Bread Pudding with a Vanilla Rum Sauce. Local specialties will be denoted on the menu with a Barbados flag, allowing guests to distinguish local cuisine.
Visitors and Barbadians alike can also expect recurring culinary activations like a Weekend Breakfast Buffet, a weekday Executive Lunch offering ideal for corporate meetings, a twice-monthly Sunday Lunch Buffet, and seasonal themed dining nights such as Pasta Night Tuesdays and Taco & Tequila Thursdays.
A NEW VISION AHEAD
Owned by Caribe Hospitality, the team continues to look towards the future with goals for additional enhancements. In late 2025, guests can expect a refurbished Boardroom and more sustainability initiatives, as the hotel will be working towards executing Green Meetings.
