It’s been two years since Formula 1 returned to the streets of Las Vegas. The lead up to the 2023 return was filled with drama and inconvenience, leaving many to wonder if the event would be a success. However, the event turned out to be a smashing success, pulling in over $1.5 billion for the Las Vegas economy.
After the first-year’s trials and tribulations, the planning team walked away with a wealth of knowledge, focusing more time on track-related activities, while toning down the unnecessary fluff.
Despite the 2024 race bringing in just over $934 million to the city of Las Vegas, the event planners were very pleased with the results, and attributed the decline to normalized visitor levels, and the lack of funding coming in from initial infrastructural development.
Now that F1 has solidified its name in Sin City, let’s talk about watching the race. The Las Vegas event is by far not the cheapest event to attend on the F1 calendar, and I know there are many looking to take advantage of the view from the hotel rooms to catch some street racing action instead of paying for tickets at the street level.
2025 Event Details
The F1 Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix runs from November 20 through 22, with the Sunday race starting at a more reasonable 8PM PT (track time).

- Friday 20 – Practice 2 – 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

- Saturday 21 – Qualifying – 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Sunday 22 – Race starts at 8:00 p.m.
Some of the pricier tickets are already available for sale, but you can check back ticket sites closer to the time if you’re looking for something cheaper.
F1 Las Vegas Track Layout
The Las Vegas street circuit has 17 turns, with the bulk being at the start (turns 1 through 4) and around the MSG Sphere (6 through 9). The remaining turns lead onto Sands Avenue, bending around the Palazzo Tower.
From there, it’s mostly high-speed action down South Las Vegas Boulevard, running from Sands Avenue to turn 14 onto Harmon Avenue. Drivers will make their final few turns (14 through 16) before returning to the grand stands just after Koval Lane.
According to the promoters, drivers can potentially hit top speeds of 342kph (212mph) down Las Vegas Boulevard, with some teams predicting topping out at 370kph (230mph) with DRS.
Which hotels to stay at for good views at F1 Las Vegas?
If you’re not planning to buy tickets for the entire weekend, or prefer to take in the action from your hotel room, these are some of the better options to pick from. Not all rooms are created equally though, as some have balconies while others are limited to just window views.
Some offer really good vantage points while others are simply too far away from the street. This list will categorize some of the major options into three brackets depending on the overall vantage point and ease of viewing the track.
As always, hotel rooms sell out months before the event, so if you’re looking to take advantage of the better accommodations, this is your time to book. This list will continuously be fine-tuned as more information about the event is made available.
Hotels with the best views for F1 Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
The Cosmopolitan is by far the most in-demand hotel because of the amazing views of both South Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. You will be able to see the cars racing from turn 12 all the way through turn 16 and beyond. Unfortunately, Planet Hollywood and Elara block the rest of the straight down to turn 17, but it’s a small sacrifice given how much you can see otherwise. Guests attempting to book here should look for the Wraparound Terrace Suite or the Wraparound Terrace Suite Fountain View in the tower closest to the strip on the higher floors.
The lower floors may have restricted views further down the strip, so make sure your eyes are in order before your visit.
Pros
- Modern rooms.
- Excellent views of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue from turns 12 through 16.
- Guests have access to a wraparound terrace.
Cons
- Prices may be sky high for these rooms.
- The Terrace rooms can only be booked for two people, so if you’re planning to bring additional friends, they will have to either stay in different rooms or at another hotel.
Hilton Club Elara Las Vegas
Like the Signature, the suites at Hilton Club Elara Las Vegas offer great views of Harmon Avenue. Hilton Club Elara is located in the same building as Hilton Grand Vacations Club. Double check the hotel name before booking as the Grand Vacations Club does not offer a balcony suite option.
When booking, look for the Premium 1 Bedroom 1 King Suite with Balcony. The southern suites offer the best view as you can see all the grandstand action from turns 17, back to 1 through 4.
Pros
- Good street view of the straight from turns 16 through 17.
- If you get a room on the southern side, you will get excellent viewership of the grandstand area.
Cons
- View can be limiting depending on which side of the hotel you get.
The Platinum Hotel and Spa
Even though the Platinum Hotel and Spa is not a top choice in my usual Vegas line up, it’s situated on the straight between turns 4 and 5. You might see some overtaking action as this is one of the DRS zones.
Those staying here should book the Marquise Suite as this has an outdoor balcony and a view of the strip (double check with reservations just to make sure).
Pros
- Excellent view of the straight between turns 4 and 5.
- Balcony access.
Cons
- Hotel rooms are a bit dated and dark.
- The surrounding areas are a bit sketchy as it’s not really a path for foot traffic.
Paris Las Vegas
In July 2024, Paris Las Vegas added a number of balcony strip view suites to the Versailles Tower, offering a 180-degree view of the strip from turns 13 through 14. This is another DRS zone, so expect to see some overtaking here.
When booking, look for the Versailles Balcony Room 1 King or 2 Queen options. These are the only rooms with a guaranteed view of the strip. The regular Versailles Strip View Room also offer limited views of Las Vegas Boulevard, but it’s nowhere as good as the balcony options.
Anything other rooms types at Paris Las Vegas would be a gamble.
Pros
- 180-degree view Las Vegas Boulevard from turns 13 through 14 (DRS zone).
- Balcony access.
Cons
- May sell out quickly.
- Paris Las Vegas’ other rooms really don’t come anywhere near close to the Balcony option.
The Signature at MGM Grand

The Signature at MGM Grand provides very good views of the straight along Harmon Avenue. The hotel has three towers, but you ideally want to get a room in Tower 3. From there, you can get an unrestricted view of the cars coming around turn 14. If you stay in Tower 2 (like in the photo above), the Marriott blocks the view of the turns near the Cosmopolitan, but you still can see the cars coming down the straight as they continue to the last corner just further down the road.
If you are booking, you can either get the Deluxe Balcony Strip View Suite or the One Bedroom Balcony Strip View Suite. If possible, ask for a room on the lower floors, maybe on floors 20-30.
Pros
- Good view of the straight from turn 14 and onward if you get a room in Tower 3.
- Balcony access.
- Access to the MGM Grand and the monorail (even though it’s a bit of a walk between the two hotels)
Cons
- The rooms at the Signature are pretty outdated compared to many other offerings in the area
Hotels with good views for F1 Las Vegas
The Palazzo at The Venetian
The Palazzo at The Venetian is definitely one of the more higher end properties on the strip, with so much to do on the ground floor, but I’m 50/50 on the views from the room. For starters, besides the few Chairman Suites (which go for around $25,000 a night on a none-F1 day), the other rooms do not have balconies or terrace access.
However, the strip side rooms have a pretty good view of turn 12 from Sands Avenue onto Las Vegas Boulevard. The back side of the hotel has a good view of Sands Avenue but you need to request rooms in the section that directly faces the east. From here you could see turns 9 through 11.
Pros
- Extremely high-end rooms.
- Most rooms have relatively good views of turns 9 through 12 depending on which side you stay.
Cons
- No balcony.
- If you get stuck with a room at the back of the hotel facing the south west or north east, views of the track appear to be extremely limited.
Wynn Las Vegas
While the Wynn Las Vegas does not have rooms with balconies, the strip facing rooms offer a very good view of turns 11 and 12 from Sands Avenue onto South Las Vegas Boulevard. Those looking to book should get the strip-facing Panoramic View or Panoramic Corner King as these directly face the junction. Any one of the Tower Suites should be fine as well once you request the strip view.
Pros
- Modern rooms
- Good views of turns 11 and 12.
Cons
Hotels with OK views for F1 Las Vegas
Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
Flamingo Hotel Room Tour | Flamingo Room | 1 King | Strip View

The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel is located on the strip itself with a pretty OK view of South Las Vegas Boulevard. Sadly, none of the suites have balconies, and the angle of view is very limiting. When booking, look for rooms with a strip view on one of the higher floors.
Hotels that do not have good views for F1 Las Vegas
Contrary to popular belief, there are a few big brands I would stay away from IF a view of the track is very important. The list includes the Bellagio, Caesar’s Palace, Treasure Island, The Venetian, Harrah’s, Linq, Paris Las Vegas, and Planet Hollywood. The problem with most of these hotels is that while they have very good views of the strip and surrounding landscape, the track is simple too far out of sight, and may be further blocked off during the race.
Conclusion
Given how popular the Formula 1 Las Vegas event is, if you’re looking to secure a hotel with a good view of the track, start planning and booking from now. As this is not a definitive list, and it will be updated as much information comes to light.
