Hotel Clermont
This October, Michelin released their list of all the prestigious Michelin Key recipients in the United States, and three ATL hotels made the cut! Keep scrolling to see all the best hotels in Atlanta, according to the Michelin Guide!
Wait… what is a Michelin Key?
Good question. You’ve probably heard of the Michelin Guide for restaurants… but hotels? Probably not. Well, just like MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys distinguish the most outstanding hotels in the U.S.
And just like stars, hotels can earn keys on a rating system: 1 – 3 keys. The best of the best earn 3 keys, then 2 keys, and of course, still a high honor, but last is 1 key.
Which Atlanta hotels earned a Michelin Key?
There are three ATL winners, each earning one key. These hotel hotspots include:
- Forth Hotel Atlanta
- Hotel Clermont
- Stonehurst Place Atlanta
About the winners
Forth Hotel Atlanta
Matthew Williams
Where: 800 Rankin ST NE, Atlanta, USA (Old Fourth Ward)
If you’re looking for a striking, modern spot to stay in the city, Forth Hotel is where it’s at! You’ll enjoy being right there in the heart of the city, with amazing views, beautiful architecture, and of course, a comfy, luxurious spot to stay!
Michelin says,
Atlanta’s historic Old Fourth Ward is more of a culinary hotspot than a place to stay the night; most of the city’s luxury hotels are located in Downtown or Midtown. A notable exception, the hip Forth Hotel, is a creation of the same team that converted the nearby Ponce City Market from an old Sears building into a vibrant food hall.
Hotel Clermont
Hotel Clermont
Where: 789 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, USA (Poncey-Highland)
Hotel Clermont just turned 100 years old, and it’s one of the biggest landmarks in the ATL! We ADORE Hotel Clermont and all the fun to be had there. With an iconic radio tower, a rooftop bar, a delicious restaurant, and some ~adult entertainment~ in the basement, there’s something fun for everyone to enjoy at Hotel Clermont!
Michelin says,
Its neighborhood, Poncey-Highland, is on the up lately, and features no small amount of nightlife of its own. But the Clermont more than holds its own in that department; Tiny Lou’s, the French-Southern brasserie, serves dinner and a weekend brunch, while the lobby bar features creative cocktails and late-night bites. Café Clermont serves Revelator coffee, and the Roof Top is exactly what it sounds like: a rooftop bar with far-ranging views and a colorful crowd of locals and guests.
Stonehurst Place Atlanta
Stonehurst Place
Where: 923 Piedmont Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, USA (Midtown)
‘Hotel’ is a bit of a stretch here, since this 8-room quiet bed and breakfast is definitely a different vibe from hotels. Stonehurst Place is an adorable favorite in Atlanta, with a cute but modern cottage feel.
Michelin says,
We’ve nothing against bed and breakfasts per se; they’re not simply small hotels, but something else entirely. Occasionally, though, we come across one that’s extraordinary enough that we’re forced to take notice, and this is one of those times. Atlanta in general does oversized nouveau riche as well as anyone, but Stonehurst Place is proof that they’ve still got a flair for the classic as well.
